Loy Krathong festival

Hello everyone,
How you all doing ?
I’m doing great with my life ..
today I came to share my experience about the Thai festival called “ Loy Krathong “.
Loy Krathong is a Siamese festival celebrated annually throughout Thailand & Laos. The name could be translated as “ to float a basket”, and comes from the tradition of making Krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which floated on river. It takes places on the evening of the full moon 🌕 of the twelfth month in the traditional Thai Lunar calendar. Hence the exact date of the festival changes every year. The basket was made of banana tree, which was also decorated by the banana leaves

The Thai people make the buoyant with banana leaves and flowers. Here in my village , the committee person announced a competition on Loy Krathong day. They mentioned like “ the person who make the buoyant beautifully will get the reward money 500 baht ( 15 $).
On the last day evening, nearly 150 buoyant received for the competition.

The judge was a local government officer. The loy krathong festival was celebrated in our local temple. The judge started to check the baskets around 7 p.m . She took nearly an hour to finish the result. Then the local chairman came up to announce the prize winners. They also give 20 baht as complementary for those who participated. Once they finished the reward ceremony , the people were get their basket to float in the pond, which is in the backyard of the temple. So many kids blows the cracker and share the smile.

Believe of people :

When the people make their basket( Krathong) they put the hair , nail with that. Cuz people believed that if put the hair and nail, which floats along basket means it will bring them luck, happiness and the their bad luck and worst things float away with their basket. Anyhow this festival bring the people together and pray with happiness...

Okay guys I will see you on another experience of  me. Until then bye from your Sandy
