Thailand is at 58th place.???? Who is NO:1? Which is the World Happiest country?

Every day, we try to find three things: 1. Money, 2. Delicious Meal, and 3. Happiness.

I have recently passed on the survey, which measures the happiness of NOT a person, NOT a community, or NOT a province, and the happiness of the countries; yes, they measure the happiness of all countries. Gallup, Inc. is an American multinational analytics and advisory company based in Washington, D.C.Founded by George Gallup in 1935, the company became known for its public opinion polls conducted worldwide. Gallup provides analytics and management consulting to organizations globally.  In addition, the company offers educational consulting, the Clifton Strengths Assessment and associated products, and business and management books published by its Gallup Press unit. To determine the world’s happiest country, researchers analyze comprehensive Gallup polling data from 149 countries over the past three years. They specifically monitor performance in six particular categories:

  1. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per Capita: This measures the economic well-being of citizens in terms of income and standard of living.
  2. Social Support: Refers to the strength of social networks, family bonds, and community connections.
  3. Healthy Life Expectancy: Indicates the average number of healthy years a person can expect to live.
  4. Freedom to Make Life Choices: Assesses personal autonomy and the ability to make decisions without external constraints.
  5. Generosity: Reflects acts of kindness, charitable giving, and willingness to help others.
  6. Perceptions of Internal and External Corruption Levels: Measures trust in institutions and perceived fairness.

Researchers create a fictional country called “Dystopia,” representing the world’s least happy people. They set Dystopia as the rock-bottom value in each category and compare real-world countries against this benchmark. The scores from all six variables are blended to create a single combined score for each country. Interestingly, the top seven happiest countries in the world for 2021 were all Northern European countries:

  1. Finland: Ranked first for the fourth consecutive year, with an overall score of 7.842.
  2. Denmark: Followed closely with a score of 7.620.
  3. Switzerland: Achieved a score of 7.571.
  4. Iceland: Scored 7.554.
  5. Netherlands: Earned a score of 7.464.
  6. Norway: Achieved 7.392.
  7. Sweden: Scored 7.363.

These rankings reflect strong social support systems, high standards of living, and mutual trust among citizens. It’s worth noting that Afghanistan was the least happy country in the world for 2021, ranking 149th due in part to low life expectancy and GDP per capita.

IN EAST ASIA:

In East Asia, the average happiness score is quite close to the global average, with Taiwan standing out as the happiest country. Singapore outcompetes other Southeast Asian countries despite having a population of only 5.6 million. Its neighbor Malaysia, however, plunged from 35th to 80th place. Oceania stands alone – Australia and New Zealand are closely matched in their individual happiness scores.

No matter what, Your happiness does not depend on others or material things. Here are the ten key factors to help you be happier and create a positive environment:

  1. Practice Gratitude: Regularly reflect on the things you’re thankful for. Gratitude boosts happiness and shifts your focus toward positivity.

  2. Connect with Others: Cultivate meaningful relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. Social connections contribute significantly to well-being.

  3. Stay Active. Exercise releases endorphins, which improve mood. Find an activity you enjoy, such as walking, yoga, or dancing.

  4. Get Enough Sleep: Prioritize restful sleep. Lack of sleep affects mood, productivity, and overall happiness.

  5. Help Others: Acts of kindness create a ripple effect. Volunteer, lend a hand, or simply offer a smile—it makes a difference.

  6. Spend Time in Nature: Nature has a calming effect. Take walks, have picnics, or enjoy a sunset—it rejuvenates the soul.

  7. Practice Mindfulness: Be present in the moment. Mindfulness reduces stress and enhances contentment.

  8. Learn New Things: Curiosity keeps life interesting. Read, take courses, explore hobbies—it adds joy.

  9. Declutter Your Space: A tidy environment promotes mental clarity and positivity.

  10. Laugh Often: Laughter truly is the best medicine. Watch comedies, share jokes, and embrace humor.

Remember, happiness is a journey; small steps can lead to significant changes!

See you all in another blog.
